Be the last robot standing

Diabotical is a free multiplayer first-person shooter (FPS) developed by The GD Studio. Set in a colorfully fun universe, you play as one of the robots–called Eggbots–and fight against other players in a variety of game modes across a wide range of equally colorful and detailed maps.

A surefire fun adventure, Diabotical has an FPS nature similar to Overwatch, but with a design style closer to Wall-E or Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout. Additionally, this game isn’t limited to only fragging as it offers wide customization options, different game modes aside from shooting, and even its own in-game version of Aimlab.

Conquer planets after planets

In Diabotical, the Eggbots are interplanetary species that transform any fascinating location into their very own battle arena. This premise leads to the wildly different maps available for players, with new maps coming in every now and then. Additionally, there are 15 game modes to choose from, including classical multiplayer FPS in Free For All or the one-hit-kill battle Instagib, ensuring variety and replayability among players.

While on the aspect of replayability, the developers behind this game made sure to accept input from the community as the game features a Map Editor. This allows players to create their own levels based on existing element themes. Not only do players get to alter the level, but they can also customize game physics in custom game lobbies, where the custom maps are also made available.

Lastly, its concept is unique. Instead of human-like characters with different targets–head, arms, legs, torso–what you have here are basically giant eggs running around. While this is also visually appealing, the lack of locational damage adversely affects the skill levels required to master this game. It no longer requires accurate crosshair placement as with other FPS games, but at least it looks and feels fun for less competitive players.

A less serious FPS

Games like Valorant or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive offer different damage ratings to different parts of the player hit with each shot, Diabotical does not have that mechanic. While this is a turn-off for competitive players, the overall egg-like characters are a visual improvement welcome for casual players. Additionally, its wide range of game modes and maps are enough to keep you and your friends playing over and over again.
